Photos From the Philippines

February 13, 2019

I couldn’t quite figure out how I wanted to share some of my favorite photos that I took while I was in the Philippines, and I’m also trying to figure out how to write a hugo shortcode so that I can include responsive slideshows within a post. So for now, here is a separate post with some of the images from my trip that I love the most.

My cousin and her daughters at the front of a bangka boat. This day started out gray and rainy but ended up being one of the most beautiful days during my stay.

Pearl divers following our bangka, aggressively trying to get us to buy pearls.

A sea cucumber friend that was returned to the ocean after some observation.

Ela and Iza inspect a six-legged starfish.

Vanishing Island.

A kamayan feast on my Tita Badette's ranch.

A doggo that lives on the ranch.

Wildberry Cafe in Buda (the border of Bukidnon Province and Davao City).

Roxas Night Market.

More scences from Roxas Night Market.

Grilled street food at Roxas Night Market.

A house in Los Baños in Laguna, Philippines, just outside of the University of Philippines' Los Baños campus.

Goats hanging out in a neighborhood in Los Baños.

The impetus for the trip was my mom's 50th high school reunion. Look at how cute they are.

(The cover photo for this post is a picture of whole deep fried hito (catfish). It was probably one of the best things I ate last year.)
